There’s an old saying, “You wouldn’t let your kids plan your vacation, so why would you let them plan your funeral?”
Pre-planning funeral arrangements (also known as a “Pre-Need”), for yourself or a loved-one, provides you with the opportunity to make end-of-life decisions calmly and without a sense of urgency. If making arrangements for yourself, it ensures that your wishes are known to your family and will be followed after your passing, alleviating any confusion or conflict.
Pre-funding your arrangements relieves your survivors of the financial burden and makes your wishes legally binding.
For Consumer protection, when pre-funding your funeral arrangements, California law states that the funeral establishment cannot hold your funds. Pre-paid funds must be held by a third-party Trustee. Simply Remembered uses the California Master Trust to hold client funds until the time of their passing. This also protects you by making your funds available in the event that you were to pass in a location outside the Central California region, necessitating the use of another funeral establishment.
